Bedspace is a small collection of Hotels and restaurants based in and around Unawatuna on the beautiful southern coast of Sri Lanka. It was started By Malcolm Skinner and David Thomson in 2013 as an alternative to the run of the mill accommodation and food available at the time.

Malcolm’s Mother is Sri Lankan and has always had a love for the Country. After Growing up in London and travelling the world he decided to move to Sri Lanka to be immersed in it’s post war bloom.

David is a New Zealander who has cooked all over the world. After visiting Sri Lanka to provide training for local Chefs he decided to stay and co-founded the first Bedspace with Malcolm as a fun, food centrist hotel concept.

Each Bedspace guesthouse or restaurant is designed to be a fun, relaxing and unpretentious space to be in. All of our staff are involved in the continual improvement of each area.

We believe life is here to be enjoyed and we share that with our staff and guests alike.
